BAKER, Scott
The family of Andrew Scott Baker announce with deep sorrow that he passed away Tuesday, October 18th, 2022. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Scott is survived by his parents, Robert and Carolyn Baker, his sister, Emily Stiner and his two nephews, Alexander and William Stiner.
Scott was born in Orillia, Ontario on August 25th, 1976. At the age of three, he moved with his parents to Peterborough and lived there with them for the rest of his life. He was a graduate of Grace Christian Academy, Crestwood Secondary School, and Fleming College.
Scott was known for his incredible ability to repair almost anything electrical/electronic and mechanical. He repaired radios, older style televisions, hi-fi components including turntables and tape decks, clocks, electronic house and church organs, and myriad other items. He could be seen around the Peterborough area delivering repaired items in one of the vehicles he had repaired and upgraded – most recently a red 1992 red GMC truck.
Scott was autistic and suffered from many physical and sensory issues throughout his life; however, he did his best to overcome these and was able to accomplish a great deal. He had a special bond with cats, especially Tesla and Barnie, two ginger tabbies which he had rescued. Scott was a very special person and touched the lives of everyone he met. He will be sorely missed.
