Obituary for Colleen Cameron

CAMERON, Colleen Leatrice

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Colleen Leatrice Cameron, age 70, at Peterborough Regional Health Center on the morning of December 28th, 2022, after a valiant fight against cancer, covid and pneumonia. Colleen was born in Sudbury to Fernande Cameron (née Bolduc) (predeceased), and Bernard Cameron (predeceased) at Sudbury General Hospital. Colleen is survived by her daughter, Shaunna (Alvin) and Donovan, and her granddaughter, Olivia. She is also survived by her brothers, Ron (Lee) and Ken (Stacey), as well as nieces and nephews, Anthony (Sophie), Amanda, Jeff (Nadine), Eric, Tara (Eric), Sara (Shawn), Brooke (Chris), Madison, Brandon (Haley), and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

Colleen was loved and adored by everyone who had the pleasure of spending time with her. She adored doing crafts with her granddaughter, Olivia, and eating Tim Horton's, after picking her up from school. An accomplished visual artist, Colleen enjoyed doing acrylic paintings of nature scenes, and making fairy and gnome homes. Colleen will be remembered for her adventurous spirit; she loved taking long drives, going on trips and cruises with her family, swimming, and snorkeling.

As per Colleen's wishes, there will be no formal service, and her remains are to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation to The Arthritis Society in Colleen's name. Although she battled most of her life with advanced and deformative rheumatoid arthritis, she consistently pushed the limits of her body daily and was proud to do so, saying often: "all you need is good leverage!".
