GARVEY, Darlene Isabel (née Condon)
Passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Hospice Peterborough on September 8, 2022. Cherished wife of Patrick and loving mother to Teresa. Beloved daughter of the late Emmett and Audrey Condon. Dear sister to Brian Condon (Brenda), the late Michael Condon (Bonnie), and Terry Condon (Katie) and sister-in-law to Mary Matikainen (Ed) and Suzanne Paidra (Erik). Dear aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and many more. Darlene will be remembered for her many years working at Quaker Oats and for her deep commitment to volunteering in the community at Telecare, Community Care, Amnesty International, and more. Her love of travel and adventure will be fondly remembered by all. Her strength, kindness, and good humour were ever present through the grace with which she handled her ALS diagnosis. Special thanks to Dr. Friesen, Dr. Whiting, Kim Keating-Grills, and the staff at Hospice Peterborough for their exceptional care. A memorial service will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Rd., Peterborough on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11:00 am with interment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Douro. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Darlene, donations to Telecare Peterborough or Hospice Peterborough would be greatly appreciated.
