Obituary

On August 31 2020 the loving heart of Ann McIlwain came to rest after being at PRHC for 6 weeks. Left to mourn and also cherish a wealth of memories are her husband of 63 years Bill, children Debbie Molloy (late Junior), Reg McIlwain (Teresa), Sue Philpot (Bob) and Dan McIlwain (Angie). Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will continue to learn about her through family stories. She showed us by example how to face life's challenges head on. And as a family we will. As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to PRHC or CNIB. Online condolences may be left at www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca.

Dear McIlwain family I send my condolences.
I knew your mother Ann, through your father Bill who became a volunteer driver with Community Care Buckhorn in 2000. Ann was always Bill's secretary who knew whether Bill was busy on a particular day or time. She recorded information or had Bill call back promptly. The message always got through. They were a team and she fully supported his endeavours by baking for our fundraising sales the Buckhorn Community Centre or sharing her wonderful Christmas cake at a silent auction or just being at his side. Family was very important to Ann as you all know and this is not always the case. She faced her challenges bravely and planned for the future. I was just on the edge of their lives but saw her as a kind and private lady who was a brave and loving partner in their marriage. My thoughts are with you.
Lynda McKerr, former Coordinator of Community Care Buckhorn

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I`ll always remember Ann`s hearty chuckle and how she would welcome us as kids to a visit at the little cottage with a can of 7-Up.
