Frederick (Fred) Duncan McIntyre
Surrounded by family, and on his terms, Fred said his final goodbye at PRHC, Palliative Care, on June 20, 2023 in his 80th year. Fred was co-owner/operator of Peterboro Auto Wreckers until 1990. On the Farmers Mutual Board of Directors 1991-2012. His love of woodworking will be remembered and enjoyed by many for years to come. When not on the golf course, Fred could be found wandering the roads of Otonabee Township and beyond, always sharing some history of the area to those he met along the way, while at the same time, always eager to learn from them.
Fred is predeceased by his wife Doris (Clements). Loving father of Debbie and husband Brent West, and Ron and partner Vicky Rutherford. Extremely proud Grandpa of Kurt (Daniel Jaremek) West, Brandon (Ella) West, and Kristin West. Brother-in-law of Lillian McIntyre, Marilyn McIntyre, John (Joan) Clements, Helen Newall, and Marie Bolton. Uncle to David (Sue) McIntyre, Doug (Kim) McIntyre, Christine (Mike) McIntyre, Scott (Gayle) McIntyre, Karen (Marty) Kemp, Melanie (Teri) McIntyre, Sonya (Scott) Kemp, John McIntyre, Calvin (Shannon) Newall, Braden (Krista) Newall, Jim (Golnar) Newall, Tammy (Mark) Trotter, Stephanie (Greg) Elcombe, and Andrew Bolton. Great Uncle to many. Fred was son of the late David and Lily McIntyre of Otonabee. Fred was predeceased by brothers Jack, Bill and Keith, brothers-in-law Ronnie Clements and Jim Newall, nephews Charles McIntyre, Rob McIntyre, John Clements Junior, and Lance Newall.
Fred was lovingly cared for by the palliative care staff at PRHC and the family is forever grateful. Join us in your summer casual attire for a Memorial of Remembrance and Committal at the Upper Keene Cemetery, Keene, Ontario at 11:00 am Saturday July 8, 2023. A Celebration of Fred's Life will follow at the Keene Lions Centre, 1137 Heritage Line, Keene Ontario from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm. If desired donations may be made to the Keene United Church.
