JOHNSTON, George Allan “Al”
Peacefully at PRHC on Monday January 30, 2023 at the age of 88. Loving husband of the late Patricia (2003). Beloved father of Lorraine (d. Ron) Homewood, Reginald, Barbara (Dan) St. Jean and David, step father of Christine (d. Roy) Howlett, Paul (Pam) Lowe, Elizabeth Rider and Penny (d. John) Lowe. Dear brother of Carmen MacDonald, Shirley Wood and the late Jane Graham and Charlie MacDonald. He was affectionately known as Big Poppa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren and Uncle Al to many nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly.
Al will be laid to rest in St. John’s Ida Cemetery on Saturday May 27, 2023 at 11:30 am. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Peterborough Humane Society would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at AshburnhamFuneral.ca.
