Obituary for Grace Day
DAY, Grace
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Grace Day. Grace passed peacefully at PRHC after complications from surgery following a broken hip.
Loving wife to the late Maurice (1987) and Ken Beckett (1997). Predeceased by parents, Beatrice and George as well as siblings, Ede (Glenn), Tom (Laura), and Phyllis (Gord).
Loving mother to Trevor (Angie), Scott (Tammy); Stepchildren, Carolyn (Robert), Sarah (Harold), and Mike. Grandmother of Nicholas, Riley, Shelby, Ambrosia, Gryphon, and Jack. Great Grandmother to Tegan.
Grace was loving, giving and kind. She was the best Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Wife, Sister, Aunt and Friend to all who were fortunate to know and love her. Widowed twice and the last surviving sibling of her family, Grace was a true survivor. Family was the most important thing to her all her life.
Life was not easy for Grace but she always tried to find the silver lining in every challenge she faced. She was funny, fiercely independent and feisty right until the end. Grace loved cats and her home was rarely without at least one. Grace loved history and she spent her later years traveling the world. Her memory was impeccable and she was always happiest while reminiscing about the good old days.
Grace was truly a light in this world and she will be dearly missed. Rest easy Grace darling, we will take it from here.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society or the Canadian Lung Association.
As per her wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
