DUBAY, Gwendolyn Geroldine
17 May 1936 - 19 December 2022
Passed away peacefully at Fairhaven Home with her family by her side in her 87th year. Gwen was the daughter of James and Dorothy Jacobs and was born in Campbellford Ontario May 17, 1936.
After graduating from high school Gwen enrolled at the Peterborough Civic Hospital School of Nursing and graduated with the class of 1958.
Gwen was predeceased by her parents Jim and Dorothy, her brother Jim (June), sisters Barbara (Jim), Phyllis (Tim), and Jean (Joe).
Left to mourn the passing of Gwen are her husband Bob, sons Bob (Marlyn), Jim (Jennifer), and daughter Barbara (David) Crowder. A cherished grandma to Amanda, Vanessa, Grace, Lauren, Alana, Carter and Keenan, as well as five great-grandchildren.
Gwen loved nursing and enjoyed her career at the Peterborough Civic hospital finishing up as an Emergency Room Nurse for many years.
Gwen loved her family and loved painting in watercolours belonging to the “Spirit of the Hills” Arts Association. Her paintings won prizes in juried art exhibitions and were exhibited in different public buildings in the community.
Gwen also was past president of the Campbellford - Seymour Historical Society
Gwen had a passion for family, travel and living at the cottage.
A family service and burial took place December 22, 2022 at Lakefield Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Fairhaven for the loving care Gwen received over the last three and a half years of her life. The caring staff of 3R was there for her and will always be remembered by Bob and family!
