Obituary for Gwen Foster

FOSTER, Gwenneth Elinor (nee Mitchell) R.N. (McMaster 1956) – Passed away peacefully at Empress Gardens, Peterborough with her family at her side, on Saturday May 22, 2021. Gwen of Peterborough, formerly of Saskatchewan was 87 years of age.
Beloved wife of the late Donald C. Foster for 64 years. Loving mother of Nancy (Dave Stillman), Jim Foster, and Jane (Arnie Rosborough). Dear grandmother of Steve (Nicole), Brian (Jessica), Jason (Bryanna), Allison (Kyle), Julia, Michael (Robyn), and Emily (Cole). Proud Great-grandmother of Wyatt, Chase, Harper and George, with a new baby Davidson to arrive in August. Sister of Trevor Mitchell. Daughter of the late Dr. Addison Mitchell (Co-founder of The Medical Centre) and Mary Mitchell.
Gwen had a large circle of friends and was a very sociable person. She worked as a V.O.N. and later became an active partner of Don C Foster Ltd. Longtime member of Northminster United Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Gwen was an avid Bridge player. She loved spending her summers at the cottage on Stoney Lake. She and Don loved to travel and saw much of the world together. They both loved to ski and had many ski holidays.
Memorial visiting for both, Don and Gwen, will be held at the Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. DUE TO COVID 19 REGULATIONS, REGISTRATION FOR VISITATION AND SERVICE IS REQUIRED and you may RSVP on Gwen’s obituary page at AshburnhamFuneral.ca.
