John was born in Weston, Ontario and after completing his MA in History and Political Science at the University of Toronto, began working for the Canadian Government in Employment and Immigration in Toronto, where he met his future wife Cathy. After marrying, John moved his family to Newmarket and then to Peterborough 25 years ago, where he spent the last seven years of his 31-year career with Human Resources Development Canada as an Area Director. John enjoyed 18 years of retired life, with a keen interest in home renovations and gardening, always working on some part of the house and property. John was devoted to his family and was always happiest when he was with them. John and Cathy enjoyed travelling, especially the many driving vacations to Florida with the children, as well as trips to the Caribbean, England, Hawaii and China.
Sincere thanks to Hospice Peterborough, St. Elizabeth Health Care and the staff at PRHC who were so kind and caring during John’s year of treatments.
