Obituary for Judy North Schramayr (North)

NORTH SCHRAMAYR, Judy
March 21, 1946 – August 2, 2022
Beloved wife of the late Ernst Schramayr. Devoted mother to Mark and Marcia Ososke of Oregon. Caring stepmother to Ernie (Leisa), Stefanie (Jeff Thomas) and Susan (Ian Cully). Grandmother of Mitchell and Mackenzie, and step grandmother to Lyric, Russell, Justus, Olive and Erica, in whom she delighted. Judy was born in California to Charles North and Eileen Sabin. The middle of 3 siblings, Judy was predeceased by her younger brother Jay and Older brother Darryl. Judy’s early years were spent riding her horse, creating ceramics, writing poetry and sailing with family. Later moving to Portland, Oregon, she earned two college degrees while raising two young children as a single mother, and founded a highly successful private investigations firm, owned and operated today by her son. Judy was a passionate world traveler, animal lover, golfer, historian and gardener, happiest when near flowers or water. She spent decades devoted to researching genealogy and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Upon her marriage to Ernst, the great love of her life, they moved to Ennismore, Ontario and proudly obtained Canadian Citizenship. Judy was a true original; a spirited personality always ready to accept a challenge and voice an opinion. She was a kind and concerned individual who embodied perseverance and courage. Judy welcomed opportunities to embrace other cultures, religions and perspectives. She will be sorely missed by all, including her many friends, golf buddies, and curling team members. If so wished, contributions in her honor may be made to the Stroke Unit at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. As per her wishes, a colorful Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Online condolence may be expressed at www.ashburnhamfuneral.com
