Obituary for Lawrence/Larry William (aka Smokey) Wiles
WILES, Lawrence/Larry William (aka Smokey) of Peterborough
May 6th 1932-May 9th 2023
Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Lawrence was the cherished and beloved husband of 72 years to Alice Wiles (nee Wilson). Loving son of the late Ross and Elizabeth (Gurney) Wiles. Cherished father to Gail, Paul, Ann, and Tom (Kathy). Grandpa of Michael, John, Katey, Blaine, and Aaron. Great Grandpa to Carter. Lawrence is predeceased by his siblings Ross Wiles (Lakefield), Viola Keates (Peterborough), and Vivien Lacey (Belleville).
Larry will be remembered by his many friends and relatives, and he was a loving friend to many at Kashabog Lake and also Westview Drive in Buckhorn. Lawrence will be sadly missed by his fellow tenants at the Armour Road Building for his baking, prowess, and friendship.
A private family service will be held and a larger Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, charitable donations to the Parkinsons Foundation and PRHC Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of B3 for their loving care and kind support to Lawrence's family.
