Obituary for Lorraine Thomson (Clare)

THOMSON, Lorraine (nee Clare)

Peacefully at PRHC on Saturday February 4, 2023 at the age of 76. Loving spouse and Love of her Life Alexander Thomson. Beloved Mother of Kathy Thomson (Cindy), Randy Thomson, Christine and Doug Gardner, Dougie Thomson. Cherished Grandmother of Josh (Miranda), Jessica, Cassy (Scott), Jake, Gabby, Travis, Becky, Jennifer. Great Grandmother of Caleb, Christopher James (CJ), Eevie, Gavin, Jack. Dear Sister of the late Bryan Clare (Gisela), Carolyn and Cal Budgell and Sister-In-Law to Sheila Cairns, Sherry and Steve Humbal. Predeceased by her Parents Irene and Thomas Clare and In-Laws Sheila and Alexander Thomson.
She will be sadly missed by Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.

Lorraine studied at the School of Rock & Roll and Hogwarts School of Magic. Retired from GM Financial and Bell Canada plus worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital (Admitting/Switchboard).

She spearheaded the installation of traffic lights at Hunter St and Armour Road (by King George Public School) many many years ago. Children were getting injured crossing the intersection and she didn’t like that. Traffic lights were installed 40+ years ago.

She was intrigued by the UK, The World of Harry Potter and Wizard of OZ. She enjoyed singing, dancing and music, but was especially fond of Elvis, Elton John, Michael Jackson and was #1 fan of Colt Harley!

Lorraine’s Family was her Greatest JOY! She had the brightest smile to greet you and always made you feel adored in her eyes. She loved expressing her interests through decoration and display. She was ‘Queen’ of Halloween and Christmas decorating then passed down those traditions to Kids and Grandkids.

A special thank you to the PRHC Emergency Staff and Zone B6 for your assistance.

We believe she is partying with Elvis!!

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lymphedema Association of Ontario or Heart & Stroke would be appreciated.
