Obituary for Rita Worger

It is with much sadness that the family of Rita Worger (Redmond) announces her passing at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 88.

Rita was the devoted wife to late husband Bill, and is sadly predeceased by daughter Anne (survived by Phil), as well as five brothers and sisters.

She was an amazing role model, and leaves beautiful memories for daughters Brenda (Jeff), Cathy (predeceased by Chris) and Lynn (Pete).

Lovingly remembered by brother Noel (Margaret) and sister Anne (Tony).

Rita’s greatest pride and joy was her family, especially the grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by Tiffany, Sarah, Christopher, Krista, Zachary, Kate and their partners. She was extremely proud Great Grandma to Leah and Paige, as well as Ciara, Klarysa and Mila. She was so pleased to learn of the recent birth of first great grandson Malakai. Her smile and love will live on through them.
Rita loved the outdoors, travel, dancing and singing, and was never without a dog or two. We’re sure she was met with wagging tails and wet kisses. Her buddy Flint misses her already.

She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as her friends at both Applewood Retirement Residence and Lynde Creek Village.

Father Andrew Begin will deliver a family service at the Cathedral of St Peter in Chains, Peterborough. Interment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Whitby at a later date.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
