BRUCE, Maxine (nee Pyche)
Maxine Bruce (Pyche) of Peterborough, died Tuesday June 14, 2022 at Hospice Peterborough after a short illness at the age of 81. Born in 1940 on the family farm outside of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Ralph and Margaret Pyche, Maxine had 4 Brothers and 6 Sisters. Survived by her husband of fifty years, Kenneth Raymond Bruce, children Angela Hanwell (Robin), Kenneth J. Bruce (Christina) and Deanna Neil. Loving Grandmother of Kaitlyn, Joshua and Janelle Blanchard; Aaron and Elyse Hanwell; Liam and Grayson Bruce. Predeceased by siblings Catherine Bronson (Pyche); Kenneth (Patricia/Shirley), Edward (Ramona), David, George (June) and Baby Margaret. Maxine is also survived by her Sisters Christine Bodnarchuk and Dorothy Stanley of Victoria, B.C. and Marion (Longo), as well as her nieces and nephews.
After completing her education, Maxine moved to Peterborough and later found a fulfilling career at Peterborough Civic Hospital as Medical Transcriptionist. Maxine enjoyed serving her community and volunteered over the years in many capacities, also serving as a President of Peterborough Medical Secretaries Association.
Maxine loved golfing, gardening, cooking, playing bridge and mostly, spending time with friends and family whom she loved very much.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road in Peterborough. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be left at AshburnhamFuneral.ca
