Obituary for Mitchell Millard

MILLARD: Mitchell Brandon
A light left our lives on Saturday April 23rd, 2022. Mitchell Brandon Millard born October 2nd, 2003 to parents David and Linda Millard. He was the most loyal brother to Marika, Paige, and Dorothy, and a companion to their two dogs Lacey and Nova. Mitchell brought intense joy to his family on his mother’s side: Ed and Trudy Dekker (Opa and Oma), Aunts and Uncles Tricia and Stan Lovegrove, Saskia and Ed Ruigrok, Esther Dekker and Edward and Sarah Dekker as well to his cousins Ben, Eric, Renee, Sarah, Leah, Brahm and Annika. Mitchell’s smile and laughter will be missed on his father’s side: Grandparents Frank and Eleanor Millard, Aunt and Uncle Patricia and Tom Skopelianos, and cousins Abigael and Tobias. Mitchell went through his life with a fierce spirit and determination to do what made him happy. All those whose life he touched knew that his strength was in his quietness. He would stand beside you, giving you strength by his presence. This was especially true to his close friends Kieran and Aidan. Ellika was Mitchell’s childhood friend who grew into his first love. They were two peas in a pod. Her family will miss him greatly. His Aunt Tricia Lovegrove captured him perfectly, saying ‘Mitch came into this world spunky from day one. He was a little ball of energy attached to his mother’s heels, but hell bent on doing things his way’. Mitchell was an exceptional hunter and fisherman and could fix all things mechanical. He would have a story of adventure for those who were lucky enough to be in his presence when the moment arose for him to share. Mitchell always thought of others and was prone to doing good deeds, quietly, for his friends and neighbors. He had a special heart for those who didn’t always fit the mold, never judged them and loved them for what made them unique. He will be missed by his coworkers at Wendy’s. If you ever need to feel close to Mitch take a moment and pause by a whispering pine tree in a forest and he will be there. We will miss you our dear sweet boy, we will think of you often. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Living Hope Church, 1 Consumers Place, Peterborough. A Celebration of Mitchell’s Life will be held at the church on Saturday at 1 p.m. If desired, donations to Mitchell’s Go Fund Me page at https://gofund.me/8787277c would be appreciated by the family.
