Obituary for Muriel Down (Young)
DOWN, Muriel May
Passed away on Monday October 31, 2022 at Fairhaven Long Term Care in her 98th year. Loving wife of the late Elmer. Dear mother of Eleanor, Harry (deceased), Robert, John. Cherished grandmother of Eliana (Todd) Ross, Molly Down (Scotland) and great grandmother of Edana. Beloved sister of Doreen Swanson and Eleanor Irvine, both of Aberdeen, Scotland. Predeceased by Davey and Robert Young (Scotland) and William Young of Peterborough. Sister-in-Law of Vera Young, Walter, Shirley and the late Hilton Down of Roseneath.
Muriel had a great sense of humour and a colourful Scottish vocabulary at times. She worked on the buses during the war in Aberdeen and her stories were hilarious.
Her wishes were to be cremated and have no service. She will be laid to rest in Roseneath and Scotland.
Words cannot express the love and gratitude our family has for the staff of Fairhaven Westview 5. They are truly wonderful.
