Obituary for Randy Andrew

ANDREW, Randolph (Randy) Charles
April 19, 1947 – October 13, 2022

Passed away peacefully after a short illness at Peterborough Regional Health Centre surrounded by his family in his 76th year.

Randy was a lifelong resident of Peterborough with deep family roots in the area. A 35 year employee of Nashua Canada/ Peterborough Paper Convertors, and prior to retirement he worked at Peterborough Bearings. Spending time with family, whether talking and laughing around the kitchen table or celebrating special occasions brought him great joy. Every fall, for many years, he looked forward to hunting with friends at the Rock Lake Hunt Camp. A love of camping started young with numerous trips around Ontario before he and Marg found their favourite spot, a weekend getaway near Young's Point. Randy will be missed by his friends at the park and Saturday afternoon washers won't be the same without him. He discovered the world of geocaching and took pleasure in sharing it with his grandkids. While a fan of many sports, he had a passion for both NASCAR and soccer.

Beloved husband of 55 years to Marg (Dixon) his best friend. Loving father of Kim (Chris), Julie (Geoff) and Karen (Gavin). Proud grandfather to Patrick, Heather, Harrison(d), Dixon, Bronte and Reilyn. Sadly missed by his brother Rick (Marg) and sister Cindy (Jeff). Fondly remembered by his brothetr in law Ken Dixon (Mary), Aunt Vivian, Uncle Bill, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Norm and Doreen (Bull) Andrew.

A special thanks to the B2 nursing staff for their excellent care of Randy in his final days.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In memory of Randy donations to Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated.
