Obituary for Robert Wilson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Wayne Wilson on July 29, 2020, at the age of 86, with his family by his side. Best friend and cherished husband of Valerie, loving father of Robert, William (Wendy), and Cynthia (John). Survived by his brother Marc (Ann) from St. Phillips, Nfld. Loved by his granddaughters, Emma, Sarah, Sara, and Erin. He will be missed by his niece Cheryl (Ray) and his nephews Robert (Heather), Marc Jr. and Kevin and by his many friends. He will be sadly missed by Riley, his four-legged, constant companion, who accompanied him on their daily walks. Bob was a professional hockey player and, after a career of two decades, retired from the sport in 1968. He was active in the community, serving proudly as councillor, deputy reeve and reeve with HBM Township and a past master of the Masonic Lodge 435. Special thanks to the PSWs, Dr. Kelly Parks, and nurses at CMH Palliative Care Unit for their kind care and compassion. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery. If desired, condolences to the family or donations to the Alzheimer's Society Canada may be made at www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca.
