Obituary for Valerie Bain (Scott)
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Valerie Bain, (nee Scott) peacefully on March 15, 2023 at the age of 88.
She was born in Moncton NB on April 11, 1934 to Mamie (McDougall) Scott, wife of Robert Scott.
Valerie will be dearly missed by her sons Steven (Anne), Rick (Tracey), and Scott (Sandy).
Grandmother to Alexandria, Ashley, Alyssa, Candice (LeBlanc), Rebecca, Jamie, and Laura, and great-grandmother to Dawson, Arya, Violet, Lilah, Amelia, Ashton, and Liliana. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Valerie is predeceased by her parents, her sister Joyce Meade, and her brother Hugh (Sonny) Scott. She is also predeceased by her former husband, William M. Bain, who she met in 1954 while both were enlisted in the R.C.A.F. Having lived most of her life in Toronto, Valerie was employed by the T. Eaton Co., Manulife Financial, and the Addiction Research Foundation.
The family would like to thank Fairhaven LTC in Peterborough Ontario and their staff for the wonderful care that Valerie received in her final year, with a special thanks to her favourite caregiver Rebecca.
A small celebration of life will be held at a later date.
