Obituary for John (Jack) Nelson

We are saddened to announce the passing of John at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday January 28, 2023 with his loving wife Nancy by his side.

John served as a Police Officer for many years with the O.P.P. and the RCMP (Badge 34419). He then began a new career as a Realtor for several years and moved to Apsley Upon retiring from Real Estate he became a School Bus driver for Hamilton Bus Lines. He enjoyed all his professions as John had a kind and generous nature. John loved people and he was a very popular and well-loved person with a wonderful sense of humour. John loved gardening and riding his John Deere, travelling and vacations with Nancy.

John was a proud member of the Apsley Lions Club and he was successful in arranging for the RCMP Musical Ride to visit Apsley and perform their wonderful show. John was so proud of this event and the Lions Club and volunteers who assisted with the performance. Also, 2022 was his 50th year as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Midland.

We would like to thank the wonderful Nurses and Doctors & staff at the Peterborough Regional Centre who cared for John, the team at the Dialysis Unit and Home Hemodialysis Unit, Dr P Hasson in Apsley and also, the many Specialists involved in his treatment over the years. He received the very best care from all of you.

Also, thank you to all our friends and neighbours who helped out during John's illness. It was so appreciated and will never be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

John will be missed by his devoted and loving wife Nancy, his sister Audrey (Doug) and nephew Colin (Pamela) and his niece Ashlyn. He also will be missed by many cousins and friends near and far. Rest in Peace John. Forever in our Hearts.
