I have just learned of Earl's death. He was my teacher, friend, and band conductor from 1953 through 1958. I spoke to him on the phone on Sunday 26 April. I have written an autobiography, about to be published by Tellwell Talent, with Earl as one of the main subjects. He gave me permission on April 26 to be one of the people the book is dedicated to. Please give a family member my email address and/or my mailing address: 100 Victoria Street, London ON N6A 2B5. I would like to send some free copies to the family. Earl was a great man. He helped me more than any other teacher. I'm so, so sorry we've lost him.

I am sorry to hear of Earl's passing and didn't know Shirley had predeceased him. They were two of my favourite customers when I worked for Sears Travel agency, always entertaining with a story of a recent trip. A wonderful couple and will be missed.
Thoughts and prayers to the family,

Earl was my Music Teacher and Band leader at W.A.Porter C.I. in Scarborough from 1959-1962. He was a wonderful teacher!! I got to know him better when he was head of Music at Donevan C.I. in Oshawa and I was Principal of one of Donevan's feeder schools. He was a great guy.

My condolences to his family.

Our dear Earl, who knew us from the time we were born and who so astutely got each of us Zepp’s. Earl gave me great sage advice as I transitioned from a child to a teen to an adult. The many, many times our families travelled together and jammed together have always held a special place in my heart and will continue to do so. Rest In Peace dearest Earl. You were loved while here and will continue to be so in our hearts. Xo
